Hershey's is an American food company and one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the world. Its headquarters are in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company was started by Milton S Hershey in the year 1894.

In any business, there are several companies & brands which compete with each other by offering similar products & services.

For any company to thrive, it is not only important for them to improve their own products, but to also look at what their competitor is offering.

1. Mars:

Founded in 1911 by Frank C Mars, since then the company is making chocolate confectioneries. 2. Cadbury:

Cadbury is a British multinational confectionary which is completely owned by the American company Mondelez International. Cadbury brand is considered as the second largest brand after Wrigley. The company is famous for its Dairy milk chocolates which is renowned all over the world.

3. Nestle:

Nestle – largest food company in terms of revenue is based out of Vaud, Switzerland. It has a wide range of product line such baby foods, coffee, tea, dairy products, Maggi and many more. It has presence in 194 countries having approximate 450 factories with a head count of 339,000 people.

4. Ferrero Rocher:

Ferrero was founded in the 1940s in Italy by Piera and Pietro Ferrero in the form of a pastry shop. It later transformed into a world-wide success because of its diverse products like Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Joy, Tic-Tac and Nutella which have been the favorites among the people ever since their inception. The company has its manufacturing plants in all the continents and has a total workforce of around 33000 employees.

5. Toblerone:

Toblerone is a Swiss chocolate brand, initially owned by Kraft foods, and then acquired by US confectionery company Mondelez International, Inc in 1990. Toblerone was introduced by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann in 1908 in Switzerland. Since then Toblerone is among the best-known brands in the world of chocolate and is liked by more than a million people.

6. Ghirardelli:

The Ghirardelli company was founded by Domenico Ghirardelli who went to California after working in South America. In 1852 the chocolate company was incorporated and became the third oldest chocolate company in the United States. Ghirardelli was born in Italy and learnt the ins and outs of the chocolate business by working as an apprentice in the local candy shop.

7. Lindt:

Lindt is a common name for Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprungli AG, is a Switzerland based company which specializes in chocolates and confectioneries. It was founded in 1845 and has been a major player in the chocolate industry. Dieter Weisskopf is he current CEO of the company, which tapped the revenue of around 3.7 billion in the fiscal year 2016.

8. Nutella:

Termed as the best hazelnut spread, Nutella has been able to position itself as one of the household brands to cater to the appetite of a range of family members. The product that has been carved out from the tradition of winning formulations by the very famous Ferrero group, was originally formed as a proxy to the shortage of cocoa supplies following the World War II. Hence, Nutella carries a long tradition of serving the demands of a wide segment of people and is still going strong in the business.
