What is Totes?

Totes are used for  safe shipment of  hazardous  liquids and chemicals .Totes are commonly called as intermediate bulk containers. The intermediate containers are usually required for  transportation of large volumes  of lubricants , preservatives . They also help in saving a lot of transportation and handling costs . They are a decent substitute for packaging material  like drums  for shipping liquids and are less prone to accidents.

The stainless steel is the major constituent of  the bottom sloped tank and  the right percentage of carbon is maintained .The tank is regularly inspected for  leakage of any  inflammable material .  The tank dimensions are maintained as per  ISO standards decided by the UN. The shape of the tank is such that the handling volume is minimized thus increasing its safety.

Example :

Granger plastic is a commonly used  intermediate bulk container . The volumes of the liquid handled range from 330 -400 million gallons. The bottom slopes are adjusted  to an angle of 33-45 degree  for easy discharge of  liquid. Tank walls are usually kept  translucent for measurement of  liquid levels. Various IBC  scales are used for measurement of corrosive materials like sodium phosphate , calcium hydroxide , alum , potash , caustic fluoride. These scales are enclosed in a waterproof  housing.

The standard features with these scales are
